This year's autumn Open Days for our bachelor's programmes will be held on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October. Initially, the plan was to organise them a week earlier, but we were recently unpleasantly surprised by a message from TU Delft that they were forced to move their open days to Thursday, 17 and Friday, 18 October.
We think it is important to be able to reach as many study seekers as possible, so coinciding our open days with those of 4TU in particular, is not ideal. By holding our open days a week later, we can give study seekers the opportunity to visit both open days. This way, they can weigh which study and university best suits them.
For rescheduling, together with various stakeholders and the Executive Board, we weighed several options, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The choice to hold the open days on 25 and 26 October turned out to be the most desirable, both from the perspective of the organisation and from that of the study seeker.
In consultation with various faculties and departments, we looked at how to deal with activities already planned for those dates. For example, a number of graduation ceremonies will be moved to another time, and some activities will be scheduled so that we can ensure the open days take place properly.
