Young Academy Twente (YAT) Education Support Spotlight Award
We are happy to announce that the Interaction Lab team received the YAT Education Support Spotlight Award in July! This award, introduced last year, recognizes the dedication of individuals and groups in supporting and enhancing education at the University of Twente.
At the Interaction Lab, our mission is to support students and researchers in their exploration of interaction technology. We provide equipment, study spaces, a knowledge base, events, and direct assistance for projects targeting human-machine interaction. Since our opening in 2022, the lab has grown and reached a wide audience. We are always happy to assist those who wish to make the most of what we offer.
Receiving this award reflects our hard work and commitment, and our team is grateful for the recognition. Looking back on last year’s accomplishments, we are proud of all we achieved and are excited to see what the new academic year will bring!
Looking Back at the National XR Day
On the 3rd of July, the Interaction Lab had the pleasure of joining the National XR Day. This event, organized by SURF and hosted at the University of Twente, aimed at exploring ways of implementing extended reality (XR), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) within education and research. Our lab was present in collaboration with researchers to give a talk, demo, and workshop, showcasing our work in the field. It was a great day full of inspiring exchanges and networking.
We would like to thank all the researchers who represented us there:
- Dees Postma introduced Sports Interaction Technology, with a focus on his VR Rowing project - Rowing Reimagined (VR4VRT).
- Shengui Wang and Delaram Javdani Rikhtehgar presented a demo on their project VR Museum for Cultural Heritage.
- Robby van Delden, Joris Weijdom, and Daniel Davison conducted a workshop to showcase the VR platform Resonite and its applications in supporting education and research.
