Council of Coaches technical demonstrator

Council of Coaches technical demonstrator (May 2019)

We present the explanation of the Council of Coaches technical demonstrator of May 2019, as presented by the coaches themselves. We have a short, general description of the project, the demonstrator, our research, and our consortium partners in English below. For the more information about the Council of Coaches project, go to our research project's website.

So what is this about?

The project

In the Council of Coaches project, our consortium is working on a virtual council that can assist people in achieving their health goals. This council consists of several coaches that can autonomously converse with each other and the user. In this virtual council, the coaches try to help the user to formulate their own goals, help them plan on how to achieve their goals, help them learn about different techniques to help achieve their goals, support them in their efforts to achieve their goals, and more.

The technical demonstrator

The Council of Coaches technical demonstrator video was made to showcase the current state of our technical progress in the Council of Coaches project. In other words, the Council of Coaches consortium wanted to explain what our coaching system can already do. And who could better explain how the system works, and what it can do than the coaches themselves?

Our research

Within the Council of Coaches project, we at HMI do research into the behaviour of the system, the coaches, and the user interface (UI), and how this influences the interaction with the user, and the perception that the user has of the system, the coaches, and the interaction, among other things.

Our consortium partners

HMI and our other colleagues from the University of Twente “Centre for Monitoring and Coaching” (CMC) work on the Council of Coaches project with the partners listed below.
