Arjan Faber

Profile

I am a researcher at the Human Media Interaction group at the University of Twente. Currently pursuing my MSc. in Data Science, Technology & Innovation at the University of Edinburgh, UK, I previously earned my BSc. in Econometrics & Operations Research from the University of Groningen, NL. My academic journey has been complemented by internships at organizations, including Achmea, the Dutch Central Bank, and Audi AG.

During my BSc thesis, I focused on the design of machine learning methodologies for proxying Credit Default Swap (CDS) spreads. I particularly focused on neural networks, proposing a Bayesian neural network as a variant of the artificial neural network tailored for small datasets.

Building on this foundation, my current research revolves around the domain of robots learning social behavior through machine learning. Specifically, I am dedicated to advancing healthcare through the integration of robotic mobile manipulation for assistance. My aim is to contribute innovative solutions that enhance the capabilities of robotic systems in healthcare scenarios.
