Room and Presentation Instructions

Enabling Zoom

  1. UTwente organiser: using your university credentials, unlock the room’s computer
  2. UTwente organiser: using the Microsoft Edge browser, access <https://zoom.us/join> and enter the Meeting ID and passcode of the room. Use the room number as your name (e.g., “Room 3330”).
  3. UTwente Zoom host (Claudenir or Tiago): using another computer, connect to the same Zoom session and grant Host privileges to the room computer and leave the session.
  4. Session chair or Organiser: use the room’s computer to manage presentations and online participants.
  5. Session chair or Organiser: do not use the room’s computer to record the session.
  6. Session chair or Organiser: at the end of the session remove all participants and leave the Zoom session open, and the browser in full-screen mode.
  7. Session chair or Organiser: at the end of the session disconnect the room’s computer from the projector by dragging the PC icon in the touchscreen out of focus.

  1. Connect your device to one of the cables in the speaker’s stand
  2. In the small touch screen to your side, drag and drop your device (Laptop 1 or Laptop 2) to the projection area/box below

Attention: in some rooms, only the multi-port cable is connected to the speakers.

Attention: MacOS devices may not be able to adjust the volume of the speakers directly.

using the room computer (online presentations)

  1. In the small touch screen to your side, drag and drop the room’s computer (PC) to the projection area/box below
  2. Ask the presenter to connect to the room’s Zoom session and screen share their presentation 

Attention: only the room’s computer can broadcast the microphone over Zoom. 

Attention: be careful not to enable the microphone and the speakers on different devices creating echo.
