With regret, we learned that our former colleague,
Ir. Rudolf Willem de Vries,
passed away on November 20, 2021.
Until the beginning of this century, Ruud de Vries was a member of the Applied Analysis chair at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics. He was a pleasant colleague who taught the basics of mathematics to many generations of engineers across campus. His attention was not limited to mathematics, which endeared him to the students. Indeed, he was a mentor to his students and supported them in many ways.
