Dear user,
You are receiving this message to inform you that devices running Windows 10 will soon no longer be supported and must be replaced.
Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After this date, no further security updates will be available. As a result, Windows 10 devices will no longer be allowed to connect to University of Twente systems, and network access for these devices will be disabled.
If a device has not yet been upgraded, it is very likely that an upgrade to Windows 11 is no longer possible, as the hardware does not meet Microsoft’s security requirements.
We therefore recommend that you, if needed, order a new device with Windows 11 pre-installed, and dispose of the old device via e-waste as soon as possible.
If you are the owner of a Lab-PC or 'Special', please contact your accountmanager ICT.
You can check whether your device is running Windows 10 by following these steps:
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type winver and press Enter.
- A window will appear showing the version of your Windows installation.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Kind regards,
Service Desk ICT
