Peter Veltink interim dean for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS)

From 15 April, Prof.dr.ir. P.H. (Peter) Veltink will act as interim dean of the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) at the University of Twente. The position becomes vacant after Joost Kok announced his departure as dean of the faculty earlier this year.

Peter Veltink is already part of the faculty's board, where he serves as a portfolio holder for research. Veltink is also a professor of human-function recovery technology in the Department of Biomedical Signals and Systems.

Tom Veldkamp, rector magnificus of the University of Twente on the appointment: “Peter is a highly regarded scientist within our university and, from his role in the faculty board, is already well acquainted with key issues both within the faculty and university-wide. This makes us confident that Peter can quickly master this role. We wish him every success in this role and look forward to our cooperation.”

Peter Veltink on his appointment: “I am excited to fill the dean's position until the new dean will take office. It is an honour to join my fellow faculty board members Alma Schaafstal and Stephan Maathuis in leading our great faculty in the coming period, in good coordination with our colleagues inside and outside EEMCS.”

Recruitment for a new dean for the faculty has now started, with the aim of being able to appoint a new dean before the summer.
