BioNanoLab Vouchers for nine research projects

On January 18 2016, MESA+ awarded the first round of BioNanoLab Vouchers to nine research projects. The vouchers entitle holders to perform the proposed research at a 50% rate for use of the facilities, giving them the opportunity to get acquainted with the advanced and powerful facilities in an accessible way.

The motivation for organizing this competition was to promote the use of the BioNanoLab facilities. The BioNanoLab is part of the MESA+ NanoLab facilities (participating in NanoLabNL) and offers a variety of equipment and technologies  for multidisciplinary research applications, ranging from Nano deposition/dispensing systems to advanced microscopy/nanoscopy and micro/nanoscale analysis techniques. The BioNanoLab facilities are available for users from inside the university as well as for external partners, offering interesting opportunities for science, industry and the (bio)medical field.

Full potential
Janneke Hoedemaekers, technical commercial director of MESA+, handed out the Vouchers to the winners. “With this vouchers, we’re promoting sustainable use of the BioNanoLab equipment”, said Hoedemaekers. “We would like to see that the equipment is being used to its full potential and to explore new areas.”

The winners are either new users of the BioNanoLab or users that will perform their proposed research on equipment that they have not used before. The awarded projects will utilize the following equipment: Opera Automated Imager, Cell Explorer Automated Liquid Handling Platform, FluidFM and the Confocal Fluorescence Microscope.

Go to the BioNanolab website for more information about the researchers.
More details about the available equipment can be found here.

If you need more information or wish to use the facilities, please contact Ine Segers-Nolten.
