Visa: example documents

Several of the documents below are often necessary to complete your application.

Which documents you need exactly depend upon your nationality and your personal situation. Our application systems also tell you which documents you need to upload. The following documents serve as examples of the files that we require from students who wish to enter the admission process within the OSIRIS application. Without the necessary documents, the application will not be processed or rejected.

Residence permit
Instructions:
Please indicate if you already have a valid residence permit for the Netherlands or another European Country. If this is the case, please upload the front and back of the card.
Reason why:
The upload will be used to check whether you need a so-called change of purpose. Or that your current residence permit is sufficient to start your studies at the University of Twente.
Bank Statement / Scholarship letter

REASON WHY:
Since you will be living in the Netherlands, you are legally required to have sufficient means to finance your living costs here. First year students have to fully provide us with all the documents of proof that show us that you have these funds ready at your disposal.
Passport
Instructions:
You need to upload a copy of your valid passport. Make sure you include all pages, also the empty ones.
Reason why:
Your upload will be used to verify your personal details. We understand that you already had a question within your application to upload your passport, but for that moment, we only needed a copy of the personal pages. Now we need a copy of your whole passport, including the empty pages.
Antecedents Certificate
Instructions:
Make sure you have ticked all the checkboxes on the form:
Make sure to check 'Yes' or 'No' for all the statements.
In case you check 'Yes' in any of the boxes, make sure t oexplain why at the bottom of the page.
At the bottom of the document, write your full name as mentioned on your passport, your date of birth, the city where you are at that moment and the date when you are filling in this form and your signature. Please leave V-number blank; you do not have this number. You need to download the form, print the form and sign it by hand.
Reason why:
Due to Dutch law, we require the “Antecedents Certificate” from you; you will receive this form in the online questionnaire.
Example:
Declaration of Intent
Instructions:
Please fill in the requested information on the declaration of intent, such as your; full name as on your passport, date of birth, student number, the city where you are at that moment and the date when you are filling in the form. You need to download the form, print the form and sign it by hand.
Reason why:
As the University of Twente, we request you to sign the “Declaration of Intent”. Signing this means, you have taken note on the information in this document. As an Exchange student do you not have to fill in this form.
Example:
Declaration of intent to undergo a Tuberculosis test
Instructions:
Please check ‘Yes’ for question 1.1 on the “Declaration of intent to undergo a TB test”. In addition, fill in the entire form until 2.3. You can leave the questions 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 blank. You need to download the form, print the form and sign it by hand.
Reason why:
Non-EEA students from several countries need to undergo a screening for Tuberculosis (TB) due to Dutch law. Students from these countries do not need to undergo the test. You will receive the “Declaration of intent to undergo a TB test” in the online questionnaire.
