OPENING OF THE TWENTE UNIVERSITY CENTRE FOR CYBERSECURITY RESEARCH

The official opening of Twente University of Cybersecurity Research (TUCCR) took place on Friday, March 5, 2021. During a live broadcast, all partners signed a letter of intent, opening the Cybersecurity Research Centre. In addition to the signing, Mikko Hyppönen (Chief Research Officer at F-Secure) gave an inspiring keynote speech about the State of the Net, Willem Jonker and Aiko Pras (both University of Twente) introduced the brand new initiative and we spoke with some closely involved partners (Thales, Cisco, SIDN and TNO). Moderator Chris van 't Hof, provided the speakers with questions that the participants asked via the chat. we look back on a successful broadcast and look forward to the future of TUCCR with great pleasure.

Mikko Hyppönen - Keynote speech

Mikko Hypponen is a global security expert. He has worked at F-Secure since 1991. Mr. Hypponen has written on his research for the New York Times, Wired and Scientific American and he appears frequently on international TV. He has lectured at the universities of Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge. He was selected among the 50 most important people on the web by the PC World magazine and was included in the FP Global 100 Thinkers list. Mr. Hypponen sits in the advisory boards of t2 and Social Safeguard.

Chris van 't Hof - Moderator

Chris van ’t Hof is an independent researcher, writer and presenter in information technology. With his background in both electrical engineering and sociology, he analyses the interaction between human and electronic networks. His eighth book came out in March 2016: “Helpful Hackers. How the Dutch do Responsible Disclosure.” His company Tek Tok organises conferences, workshops and IT security training. As secretary of the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure, he helps ethical hackers to clean up the Internet for free. He also has his own talk show: Hack Talk.
