Centrum voor Veiligheid en Digitalisering

For a safe digital society

Our society is digitising at a rapid pace. Wonderful innovations are produced, but they may also pose major risks. Solving digitalisation and security challenges in today's society is therefore a priority. To address these questions, knowledge institutions, companies, and government work together at the Centrum voor Veiligheid en Digitalisering (CVD).

What does the CVD do?

In this knowledge centre, there is a strong focus on professional development for digital safety & security, backed up by an accompanying separate research program as well as relevant educational programs (and new ones under development) at the participating knowledge institutes. There is strong involvement from companies (big and small) as well as various governmental organizations such as municipalities. In general, CVD is organized to facilitate co-development of a range of activities around digital safety & security.

The Centrum voor Veiligheid en Digitalisering tackles the big questions around digitalisation and security head-on. This is done along four paths: education, research, entrepreneurship and public activities. Each of the four has its own offer and approach. Within the centre, the parties collaborate and develop the activities in coherence. This forms a thriving knowledge environment for digital security.

The CVD is an initiative of Saxion University of Applied Sciences, the Police Academy, the University of Twente and the Municipality of Apeldoorn.
