Tosti Talks started as a get-together for students to promote collaboration. It is now a platform to inspire, to give people something to take home to think about, or for them to get involved or familiar with an organization or ongoing projects. All while they can enjoy a tasty tosti.
Tosti Talks happen every other Tuesday at 12:45 in the kitchen at DesignLab (or outside if the weather is nice enough ;), no registration needed, just drop by and grab yourself a tosti!

Join assistant professor Pep Canyelles Pericàs for a Tosti Talk. He will talk about a project between the UT and the VU Amsterdam on studying each others’ entrepreneurial ecosystems. From their diversity, this project wants to bring their ecosystems together by learning from each other. At the VU side, students with business ideas are supported via the Demonstrator Lab, a one stop shop for testing and validating entrepreneurial ventures. The talk will introduce the Demonstrator Lab concept to the UT DesignLab base, exploring potential collaboration avenues. The talk is aimed to students with entrepreneurial mindsets or with early-stage business ideas.
DesignLab has been working with Pep for quite some time now. He is one of our Research Fellows, and works on many different projects with DesignLab. We hope to see you there! Don’t forget your appetite!
Are you ready to join Visiting Researcher Gustav Verhulsdonck this Thursday for an extra Tosti Talk? He is from the Business Information Systems Faculty at Central Michigan University. He has been working at DesignLab for the past few months, and is going to share his expertise with us in an interactive way.
Want to unlock the full potential of interacting with ChatGPT and other AI text generators? Let’s get talking—smartly!
This short 25-minute workshop at the University of Twente’s DesignLab will help you unlock the genius in using Generative AI by learning how to ask the right questions. You will learn the anatomy of constructing a good prompt and 5 different prompt types that you can leverage for better output. From crafting perfect prompts to steering AI toward creative and meaningful results, you’ll discover how to truly speak the language of AI so it can perform in smarter ways for you.
This quick workshop will give you a short introduction to the field of effective prompting in an accessible format, so you can develop smart prompts that work for you!
Pritam Ghosh is back for another Tosti Talk! Pritam is a dedicated research assistant at the PGM Department of the Faculty ITC with an academic background in Geography and Urban Planning. A few months ago, he graduated from ITC with a thesis called “Harnessing Nature: Integrated Management for Urban Flood Mitigation using Nature-based Solutions in East Kolkata Wetlands, India." This work, besides getting appreciation from the assessing committee, has also helped him get appreciation in global platforms such as the DRR Academy 2024 in Barcelona, the inaugural Climate Event at the University of Twente, and the IDRiM Society Conference, where he received the Silver Prize for Best Young Scientists Award.
His research addresses the wicked problem of Urban Floods, which is increasing globally due to the increase in impervious surfaces and Climate Change, affecting the hazard patterns. With a case study of a city from the Global South, he will suggest some nature-based solutions that can reduce the impact or (in the long run) mitigate the problem of urban flooding. Are you also passionate about sustainable cities, or planning future-proof, smart and resilient urban areas? Then you can get many valuable insights, and a yummy tosti from this Tosti Talk!
