A Safer National Police

Due to new technological developments, the value of autonomous systems is becoming increasingly interesting for the National Police. These systems can be used to perform heavy and/or dangerous tasks. In addition, a shortage in the police force, and the prioritization of the police force safety, made the idea to use these robots to perform dangerous tasks emerge. The National Police divided several tasks to universities and other partners, with the aim of creating a community, which can collaborate in the future to share knowledge.

This first project, is to investigate and develop a way in which a robot can place sensors in an indoor space, sensors that can warn of any disruption of the environment. DesignLab will use our committed team, our good academic network, and innovative methodologies, to tackle this challenge.

We are making an open invitation! If you are interested in this topic and collaboration, feel free to join the Kick-Off session. The session will take place on the 13th of June 2022, from 12:30 to 13:30, in DesignLab (IDEATE). During this session, our partner from the National Police will introduce the challenge to the team and to the other interested parties. Afterward, we want to have a plenary discussion between the stakeholders and see who is interested in contributing to tackling this challenge. If you are interested, feel free to join us next Monday!

For any questions about the kick-off session, feel free to contact Alexandru-Lucian Amariei (a.amariei@student.utwente.nl).

This is an invite for our kick-off for our overall collaboration with Strategic Business Development of the UT (SBD) and the National Police to help create a safer national police with the first sprint in collaboration with the 13th Brigade from the National Police setting up and designing an experiment center for autonomous systems, a Fieldlab model.
