ECIU Community of Practice: Challenge-Based Learning & Micro-Modules UT teachers are invited to join the CoP

The ECIU is hosting a Community of Practice (CoP) specifically designed for experienced teachers in Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) and Micro-Modules (MM). This community offers a platform for sharing expertise in creating, facilitating, and evaluating CBL challenges and Micro-modules.

The CoP meets online once a month, on the last Wednesday at 16:00, but the participants can agree on a different date if needed. These sessions are informal and interactive, focused on educational innovation and internationalization. Any practitioner interested in giving and receiving inspiration, tips, knowledge, and advice can participate. The CoP sessions will follow the Reflective Team Approach structure, a study method for intercultural teams in educational settings.

At the first CoP meeting, which took place on 28 February 2024, UT's own Robin de Graaf (ET-IPD) and Frank van den Berg (CES-CELT) discussed their 'sticky issue' of coaching students in a CBL setting.

Sounds interesting? Join the next CoP meetings!

After registering, you will receive instructions on how to access the Teacher Hub, an online platform that provides news and events on ECIU activities across Europe. The meeting links for joining the CoP sessions will be shared there and through an e-mail invite. The Teacher Hub also hosts the Meeting Place for Teachers, where the CoP exchanges ideas, issues, solutions, and materials related to CBL and Micro-modules.

The CoP sessions will be hosted by Kate Riley (Università di Trento) and Vânia Carlos (Universidade de Aveiro). For more information, you can contact them at catherine.riley@unitn.it and vania.carlos@ua.pt
