Article B3.2 point 4 EER of the BSc Civil Engineering states:
A student is allowed to have a grade of 5.0 - 5.4 for one study unit in the first year (B1) and one study unit in the second year (B2). This is called a C5. The following conditions apply:
- A student may obtain at most one ‘C5’ in the first year and at most one ‘C5’ in the second year.
- The rounded 5.0 shall come from an unrounded grade between 5.0 and 5.4 for a study unit or part of a study unit
- ‘C5’ registration is not possible for a project or a study unit of ≥5 EC
- ‘C5’ registration is not possible for a study unit or part of a study unit evaluated with a ‘fail’ (F).
- ‘C5’ registration is not possible for study units in the minor phase.
- All other study units eligible for 'C5' registration in the relevant academic year(s) have been passed. To clearify: if this request concerns the first year, all other first-year study units eligible for 'C5' registration must have been passed. If this request concerns the second, all study units eligible for 'C5' registration in both the second year must have been passed.
Compensation for the first year and second year does not have to be applied for at the same time.
Note: 'C5' registration is not required for the BSA, we count these credits manually. The (highest) credits of a study units that can possible be converted to a 'C5' automatically count towards your (extended) BSA.
