On Thursday, 13 July, a delegation from the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), in collaboration with the Post master Digital Design & Architecture Foundation (PMDD&A), visited the campus of the University of Twente.
The reason for the visit was the launch of the Digital Design & Architecture executive course, a special lifelong learning initiative of the foundation and the university's BMS and EEMCS faculties, which the ministry wants government architects to use in the digital domain.
The delegation was warmly welcomed at the Cubicus building, the home of the BMS faculty. After a brief and informal introduction, featuring speeches from the deans of the BMS and EEMCS faculties and the university's rector magnificus, representatives from the parties signed an official agreement.
In this agreement, the Ministry, the Foundation, and the BMS and EEMCS faculties emphasized their shared interest in educating and professionalising government architects in the digital domain. The signatories of the document included Dr. A. Zuurmond, Government Commissioner for Information Management; Prof. Dr. J.N. Kok, Dean of the EEMCS faculty; Prof. Dr. T. Bondarouk, Dean of the BMS faculty; and Mr. J.J. Moelker MPA, Chairman of the PMDD&A Foundation. Prof. dr. Mariëlle Stoelinga, who passionately developed the program's curriculum, assumes the role of program manager.
Following the signing, the entire group was given an insightful tour of the BMS laboratory, where they were introduced to technologies in the fields of social and behavioural sciences. Subsequently, they received an explanation about Esports at the University of Twente in the Esportslounge.
