Today Keuzegids Universiteiten, a leading independent guide for prospective students, presented the results of its survey of bachelor’s programmes in the Netherlands. This year, five programmes at the University of Twente have been awarded Top Programme status: Communication Science, Applied Physics, Industrial Engineering and Management, Chemical Science and Engineering, and Technical Medicine. The results mean that Applied Physics can celebrate its 10th year as a Top Programme. The Chemical Science and Engineering programme has been awarded Top Programme for the ninth time in ten years.
The results show that 14 of the University of Twente’s 21 programmes score above the national average, while another 3 receive an average rating. The average is set at a total score of 60. The University of Twente’s programmes range from 54 to 80. Overall the university achieved a score of 64.5 this year, 4 points less than last year. The UT maintains its position in the top half of the university rankings, but has dropped from 2nd to 4th place. Wageningen University & Research tops the rankings once again.
Compared to its fellow 4TU universities, the University of Twente occupies second place. Wageningen is a clear first, with a score of 70 (down 3 points on last year). Eindhoven is third, holding steady with a score of 59. Delft achieves a score of 57.5 (down 1.5 points).
TOP PROGRAMMES
For programmes that perform exceptionally, Keuzegids awards the status of ‘Top Programme’. This is given to all programmes that achieve a score of 75 points or above. The final assessment is reached by combining expert evaluations with the views expressed by students in the National Student Survey. Among the Top Programmes at the University of Twente, this year Applied Physics stands out. This is the tenth time that this programme has achieved Top Programme status.
