Section Instructional Technology

foto potloodThe section Instructional Technology (IST) specializes in knowledge acquisition. This includes the cognitive processes of developing and using knowledge and skills, as well as the design of instructional support to facilitate these processes.

IST is part of the Department Learning, Data analytics and Technology (LDT) within the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social sciences (BMS).

The section plays a prominent role in (inter)national research on learning and instruction. A significant part of the research is being conducted in secondary and tertiary funded projects.

The insights that are gained in these research activities are the basis for our teaching in the Bachelor and Master programs in educational science and technology and psychology.

The section employs over 25 scholars; most of them have a background in cognitive psychology or educational science.
