SUMMARY
Wouter van Heeswijk is a PhD candidate within the IEBIS department at the University of Twente. He obtained his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Management in 2012, graduating on the subject of real option analysis. His PhD research is part of the CONCOORD project, which focuses on the consolidation and coordination of urban freight distribution. His main research goal is to identify the control structure, information exchange and incentives required for autonomous actors to collaborate and form an integrated transportation system. For this purpose, Wouter makes use of multi-agent simulation, cooperative game theory, pricing schemes, and real-time decision making heuristics.
