The ETM section, and its predecessors, prides itself on its PhD programme. Be it full-time PhD students employed by the university or active on a scholarship, or part-time PhD students combining their main job with PhD research, all fulfil the same requirements and receive similar supervision. In our PhD programme, we aim to combine the rigorous use of theory with relevant applications for societal impact - for us, this is a key priority to achieve the university's mission of impact in the region and beyond. In the Table below, the academic placement of a number of our graduated PhD students is mentioned. Next to academic careers, some of our PhD students obtain senior-level management positions in industry and the public sector, evidencing our commitment to societal impact.
