The Bound States 2023 workshop co-organized and chaired by the coordinators of the sisters FET-Open projects AndQC and TOPSQUAD on 11-14 June 2023 in the wonderful location of the Margaret Island in Budapest has been a great success. Counting almost 90 participants, the workshop brought together world-leading experts in the fields of materials science, experimental and theoretical quantum physics representing academic institutions and industry. A fantastic lineup of speakers and participants presented and exchanged on the latest developments in the field of Andreev and Majorana bound states in nanoscale solid-state devices, often built of multiple material classes, such as ferromagnets, semiconductors and superconductors. Three high quality pedagogical tutorials dedicated to the young generation gave an overview of these topics. All the partners in the two projects have been represented through oral and poster presentations and during the exhibition session reaching out to a vibrant community. Excellent networking opportunities for exchanges across disciplines and countries from all over the world contributed to the success of the workshop. Many participants expressed their interest in similar events in the field often made possible by prestigious European projects and partners.
