The educational initiative CLEAR: Chemistry Learning for Environmental Action and Responsibility from the University of Twente has won the 1st prize at the Dutch Higher Education Award 2025, announced on 1 July 2025 during the ComeniusFestival in The Hague.
The 2025 Week of Education kicked off in celebratory style, announcing this year’s Brinksma Innovation Grant (BIG) winner. The team behind the project, ReflectBuddy: Enhancing Skills Development through AI-Supported Feedback — Leonie Krab-Hüsken, Jéré van Lente, Linlin Pei, and Arnoud Onnink from the Chemical Science & Engineering programme in the Faculty of Science and Technology (TNW) — took home the top prize.
In collaboration with leading international universities, the University of Twente has taken the lead in a groundbreaking project that delivers impactful learning experiences. The VIS project inspires students and faculty to develop creatively sustainable solutions within nanotechnology.
Arturo Susarrey-Arce and Linlin Pei recently attended the ECIU University Forum 2024, held from June 6-7 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Funded by Erasmus Mobility funds and VIS grants, this visit provided opportunities for sharing and exploring innovative educational practices.
Last week, colleagues from the AP, CSE and AT programmes went on a work visit to Leuven.
The visit revolved around exploring and exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of engineering education, a topic closely related to our work at FlexSciLabs.
A team of researchers and teachers from the University of Twente developed a novel teaching method that uses conceptual modelling to facilitate learning and foster creativity in classrooms of Chemical Science & Engineering students. The students tackled real-world problems related to sustainability.
