Charging composite silicon oxide-fluoropolymer electrets by electrowetting: new paper published in Advanced Functional Materials

Electric nanogenerators that directly convert the energy of moving drops into electrical signals require stable high charge density electrets. In this article, we develop a model for the (electrowetting-assisted) charging and discharging of layered samples. We demonstrate that these samples can reach high charge densities and have excellent (thermal and against impacting water droplets) stability for droplet-based energy harvesting and beyond.
