Tristan du Pree appointed professor high energy physics

The UT has appointed Dr. Tristan du Pree AS Professor of High Energy Physics as of 1 January 2023 for a period of 5 years.

This appointment is supported by the High Energy Physics Foundation (Stichting HEF) and was previously filled by Prof. Bob van Eijk for more than 20 years. Tristan is a particle physics researcher at Nikhef, the National Institute for Subatomic Physics (Amsterdam), and part of the ATLAS project at CERN. He is already an active teacher in our MSc Applied Physics programme.

Tristan Du Pree, Dr.

Tristan: "I enjoy working as a professor, both in teaching and research. In the course "Introduction to High Energy Physics" but also in working on synergies in the research line of Nikhef and the University of Twente. Moreover, I will, of course, continue to do research on the ATLAS experiment, to study even more precisely, together with our PhD students, the Higgs boson discovered in 2012."

Tristan Du Pree, Dr.

With this ancillary appointment, he strengthens our research and education from fundamental to applied science and technology for Big Science.

The S&T faculty board congratulations Tristan on his appointment.
