Invitation: S&T'S Month of Education

We are pleased to invite you to the first edition of S&T's Month of Education

A month full of inspirational lectures by external speakers, workshops to practice how to design and implement innovative education, and thematic sessions on topics such as recognition and rewarding in teaching, success stories of teaching during the pandemic, education beyond COVID-19, challenge-based learning, and lifelong learning, but also student engagement and the learning assistant programme.

S&T's Month of Education will take place from 18 May - 11 June

Energizing and motivational

Every day, we see you continually strive to provide high-quality education, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. We are proud to see how rapidly you have responded to the tremendous challenges, and how creative and innovative you have been in adapting educational tasks. To inspire and further support you, we would like to invite you to an energizing and motivational Month of Education.

Programme

The programme will consist of more than 25 sessions, such as lectures, workshops, and thematic sessions where ideas and initiatives will be translated into more practical support by sharing experiences from others. We have invited inspirational speakers as Sian Bayne, (Professor of Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh, Director of Education at the Edinburgh Futures Institute), and Aldert Kamp (former director of Education at TU Delft, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Delft leader of 4TU.CEE, and Co-director of the CDIO Initiative). We also organise panel discussions with amongst others Tom Veldkamp, about the Consequences of Corona, and Mirjam Bult about Recognition and rewards in Education. Furthermore, there are several ‘how to workshops’ on designing and implementing innovative education.

During the Month of Education, we will send all our S&T colleagues* an e-mail with a weekly overview of the programme for that week. This email also contains the links to the sessions. Please, save the date for the sessions you would like to attend, so you are sure not to miss them!

* Do you work for another faculty or department, but are you interested in taking part in one of the sessions? You are more than welcome! Register, and we'll make sure you’ll receive the weekly emails with the programme as well.

Please note that some sessions require registration. You can register via the form, which you can find on our website (click on the right week, and then the session you want to register for).
