Biography
Greetings, My name is Ana Maria and I was born on 3rd March of 1999. I grew up in Portugal. Since I was a kid, I always liked sports and dreamed of becoming a professional athlete, I even competed in different fields like swimming and athletics. However, over time I also developed a growing taste for discovering how things work and find solutions and strategies to solve problems. Thus, science became my new focus and perhaps because I am always used to working in a team with my twin sister, I attach great importance to teamwork. So, I chose to study something that matches with all these interests and in 2017 I started Bioengineering at the University of Porto. What most captivated me was interdisciplinarity and I believe that combining different fields gives great opportunities to improve healthcare. The development of a project for a course made me want to explore more in signal analysis and Artificial Intelligence. An internship is a great opportunity, so I am really excited to start to contribute with the Clinical Neurophysiology Group (CNPH), in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy.
