Stefan Sandker joined BMPI for his graduation assignment. As a technical medicine student, Stefan will work partly at the department of thoracic surgery of the Medisch Spectrum Twente and partly in the Biomedical Photonic Imaging group. He will investigate the use of the Laser Speckle Contrast Analysis (LASCA) system to measure the perfusion of the hand in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. This work on bringing optical technology from the university to the hospital will be Stefans last part of his master in Robotics and Imaging.
