STUDIUM GENERALE TALK BY PEPIJN PINKSE ON LIFE AND WORK OF WERNER HEISENBERG

Werner Heisenberg is a key figure in 20th-century physics. He was one of the pioneers of quantum mechanics and introduced the famous uncertainty principle, which states that it is impossible to know both the speed and position of a quantum particle exactly at the same time. How did he come to this amazing discovery? And what should we think of his involvement in the German atomic bomb project during World War II?

Pepijn Pinkse gave a public talk about his life and works on Monday 11 November. A video recording of the event can be found here.

Prof. dr. Pepijn Pinkse is a physicist specialized in Nanophotonics and Quantum optics in the COPS-AQO group.
