UTTELTLunch & Learn: Pencasts (full)

Lunch & Learn: Pencasts (full)

This session is fully booked!

Next session will be announced on our website.

More and more teachers are interested in using pencasts as an educational tool. A pencast is a short instructive video where you combine presentation slides with handwritten notes and audio (example). It can be very useful when you want to explain formulas, models or drawings. The final product can, for example, be integrated on your Canvas course. But you can also use this tool live, to present in front of the classroom (example).

Want to learn how to record your own pencast? On Thursday 19 March 2019, the TELT-team will organize a Lunch & Learn session about pencasts. This session is meant for teachers that are unfamiliar with this tool but are interested in using it for educational purposes.

Topics that will be discussed are:

  • Why pencasts? What are the benefits?
  • When to use a pencast?
  • Which equipment do you need?
  • How much time do you need?
  • Which support does the UT offer?

In addition, examples from other teachers will be provided and there’ll be an opportunity to try-out the tool for yourself (equipment will be provided).
