We are very proud to announce that our own Personalized eHealth Technology postdoc Annemieke Witteveen has received one of the prestigious Veni personal grants of the Dutch Research Council NWO. With this grant, she is one of the ten researchers at the University of Twente that can work out their research ideas in the next three years.
Towards a higher quality of life after cancer
“Years after cancer, most patients still experience a wide range of health problems that change over time. I will develop individualized dynamic models that predict late effects over time, monitor patients using heterogeneous data and make recommendations. Implementing this will tackle the high unmet care needs during and after treatment.”
Veni grant
The Veni grant is part of NWO’s Talent Programme, for scientists in subsequent parts of their career: Veni, Vidi, Vici. The 250.000 euro Veni grant allows researchers to work out their ideas for the coming three years. This time, 161 Veni’s were awarded, 14% of the total number of submissions. University of Twente had 50 submissions, and scores 20%. In total, NWO invests 41.5 million euro in this round.
