Improving a surgical treatment for a syndrome that mostly affects women: Development and Implementation of 3D Technologies to Improving Sacroiliac Joint Fusion (3DSIJF)

Severe pelvic instability, also known as sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction, can be treated in minimally invasive surgery by stabilizing the joint with implants. Certain factors make it challenging to place the implants without damaging surrounding neural structures. Therefore, we aim to develop and implement multiple 3D technologies, including Virtual Surgical Planning and Patient-Specific Guides, to reduce the risks of complications.
