Internal Research Portal

Biomedical engineering and enabling microtechnology.

This includes mass production of organoids (including cardioids), advanced 3D printing (including embedded bioprinting and Xolographic printing of hearts and heart structures), enabling biomaterials with advanced functions (e.g., spatiotemporal control to improve differentation, or electrically conductive materials), living materials (e.g., to improve 3D differentiation protocols), nutrient releasing materials (e.g., in vivo control of oxygen and nutrients to control implant fate), and adhesive biomaterials (e.g., biomaterials that adhere to heart tissue).

Scalable, rapid, and reproducible production of human heart tissue to gain fundamental insights, improve drug screening, and enable novel treatments.
