Blood flow quantification to unravel the interaction between blood flow, stents, and the vessel wall. Predictive models for sac regression after endovascular aneurysm repair.

Within our research, we develop and deploy novel flow quantification tools, to study the interaction between blood flow, stents, and the vessel wall. We investigate these problems using in vivo, in vitro, and in silico platforms. Furthermore, we built predictive models for sac shrinkage after aneurysm repair.

To close the development loop between UT and hospitals within cardiovascular research, going from the bench to the bedside and back, the goal is to make medical imaging-based blood flow analysis the standard of care within the next 10 years and to perform extensive device and method testing based on in-house developed high-fidelity phantoms.
