Join us for an exciting collaboration initiative between Radboudumc and the University of Twente! Both institutions are eager to enhance their partnership in research, education, and innovation. Leveraging our longstanding collaboration and ongoing projects, we're taking the next step to deepen and broaden our cooperation.

To facilitate knowledge exchange and foster connections, we're thrilled to announce our upcoming online Joint Matchmaking Event on June 6th. This event will showcase thematic pitches and virtual tours of our cutting-edge healthcare facilities, offering participants a firsthand glimpse into the expertise and resources of both institutions.

The event is open to all employees of Radboudumc and University of Twente in the medical field, from researchers to educators. This event aims to spark meaningful discussions on potential collaborative ventures. Whether you're interested in pitching your project to find partners to apply for the TURBO call (research vouchers) or simply exploring partnership opportunities, there's something for everyone at the Matchmaking Event.

Call for pitches

Abstract information

In order to facilitate knowledge exchange and foster connections, employees are invited to get the online stage and share their work and ambitions (research or education) within the University of Twente and Radboudumc community and to connect with each other.

Abstract submission is now open. We invite employees in the fields of healthcare education and research to submit an abstract for 5 minute pitch presentations. Based on the number of submitted abstracts and (preferably) an equal distribution between both institutions, scheduling and parallel sessions on various themes will be arranged. In case of too many applications for the available timeslots a selection will be made.

General guidelines & criteria

  • The call for pitches is for all University of Twente and Radboudumc employees (research and education) who are active in the health domain. Additionally, master students performing their master project within a research group can also submit an abstract.
  • You are only allowed to submit 1 abstract as the presenting author.
  • In case of a high number of application, abstracts will be selected based on both scientific quality, comprehensibility for the community at large and complementarity.
  • Note that separate registration for the Joint Matchmaking Event is required for all presenters.

Guidelines

  • All submissions must be in English.
  • All submissions, excluding title and author information, should be no longer than 250 words.
  • All submissions should be written for a broad audience, not experts in your field.
  • Abstracts must be submitted using the provided format (see below). 
  • Provide a concise summary of your research/educational project. You can use headings to structure the abstract: introduction, objective, methods, results, discussion/conclusion. 
  • The use of tables and graphs in your abstract submission is not allowed.

Pitches

 Pitch guidelines

  • All pitches should be presented for a broad audience, not experts in your field.
  • All pitches must be in English.
  • Each pitch lasts a maximum of 5 minutes. There will be no Q&A session after each pitch. If there is a question, please approach the speaker after the event and make contact.
  • You may use (a limited number) slides to support your pitch. Ensure that your slides are clear and easily readable/understandable.
  • If the pitch exceeds 5 minutes, the moderator will interrupt and request immediate conclusion.
  • Familiarize yourself with the schedule and ensure that you are ready to share your screen when it's your turn. This can only be done once the moderator gives you the floor.
