For example, we look at the need for prevention, at the opportunities for the right care in the right place and at the possibilities for value-based care. And we will tackle the challenges in the labor market and the affordability of healthcare. In short, a full and varied program on March 30! In one day you will be updated on the latest trends and developments, we will offer you unique networking opportunities to continue building together and you will go home at the end of the day with new inspiration. Keynote lecture: Prof.dr. Maroeska Rovers - How can technology improve healthcare

As indicated in various reports and the integral care agreement, medical technology can improve care through, for example, earlier diagnostics, remote monitoring, less invasive (image-guided) procedures, better communication and better patient outcomes. Ideally, only those medical innovations that improve care and are tailored to the stakeholders' needs should be implemented in practice. However, recent years' experience suggests this is different. There are still medical technologies coming onto the market that no one is waiting for, while there are also promising innovations that never reach the patient. During her presentation, Maroeska will discuss the challenges around implementing medical innovations and the benefits of starting the development, evaluation and implementation process as early as possible.

  • Plenary opening
  • Between 9.30 - 11.00

Plenary session: Personalized care: innovations in medical technologies to offer individual care?

Personalized Medicine, also know as customized care or personalized care, is a promising trend in medicine that takes the unique characteristics of each patient into account. This results in a targeted health and care approach that is specific for the context and the treatment demand of each individual. While the term 'medicine' suggests that it only aims at medication, personalized care actually brings about a technological transition in the way health and care are approached and how care is implemented.

In combination with personalized care, progress in technological innovations and data technologies for example enables treatments that are specifically adjusted to each individual. The outcome is an improved medical response and patient care. Personalized care also offers the option of developing medical technologies that improve health outcomes and reduce health differences. In this session we will show how technologies can optimize personalized care on the basis of a number of examples. We intend to explore together with the participants how we can realize the promise of personalized care and in what ways we can implement optimal care for each individual patient.

  • Plenary session

  • Speakers: Anneliene Jonker | Annemieke Witteveen | Chose Burggraaf

Exhibition stand

We also host a stand on the exhibition floor and take you on a (virtual) tour of the TechMed Centre. In this short tour, you can walk around the building yourself, become acquainted with our services and innovations and we explain to you exactly what the TechMed Centre institute does. In addition, we challenge participants to think with us about how technologies can be used to tackle staffing crisis at hospitals.
