About Sports and Culture

At the University of Twente, Sports & Culture form a vibrant and essential part of campus life.

The Sports Centre is the organisational hub for all sports-related activities on campus. The facilities include a fully equipped Fitness Centre, various sports halls, a climbing and bouldering wall, a dojo, and a swimming pool. To support your full experience, the Sports Centre also offers dressing rooms with showers and lockers, a cosy Sports Canteen, and medical services such as physiotherapy, medical fitness, and chair massage. All swimming lessons are provided by the UT Zwemschool.

Just a short walk away, the Vrijhof building is the cultural heart of the university. It houses theatres, creative studios, exhibition spaces, a theatre café, and even the University Library. We organise professional performances, exhibitions, and cultural activities both inside and outside the building—turning the entire campus into a stage. Whether you're an artist, a performer, or simply curious, we are here to help you explore everything culture has to offer.

Together, Sports and Culture aim to create a welcoming environment where every UT student and employee can participate, develop, and thrive in their own way.

Vision

To create a Sport & Culture sector in which every UT student and employee can engage with all that this sector has to offer and practice sport and culture in their own way.

Mission

To facilitate and encourage the practice of sport and culture by UT students and staff so that it can contribute to their well-being and personal development.
