FAQ

Below, you can find answers to frequently asked questions about Sports & Culture.

Opening hours

  • What are the opening hours?

We have an overview of all our opening hours

Access

  • How can I enter the Sports Centre?

It is necessary to enter the changing rooms and sports facilities in the Sports Centre via the main entrance. You need to scan the QR-code in the Sports and Culture Utwente app or your physical UnionCard/CampusCard at the access gates. The access gates will open if you have a valid subscription.

  • My student/employee account will become inactive, but my subscriptions are still valid. How can I enter the Sports Centre?

If your student/employee account becomes inactive, you cannot log in with your S-number or M-number anymore. However, your subscriptions will remain valid until the expire date.

To make use of your subscriptions again, you can sent an e-mail to secr-sport@utwente.nl and they will help you to change your account.

  • How can people with a disability get access to the Sports Centre?

People with a disability can make use of the south entrance of the Sports Centre. The south entrance is located near the indoor swimming pool. At this entrance there is an intercom (behind the stairs) which can be used to get in contact with the servicedesk employee. The servicedesk employee is able to open the door.

Are you a student or an employee at the University of Twente and would you like to have frequently access with your UnionCard/CampusCard because you need to use the elevator? Please fill in this form and request access to the 'connecting door south' in the Sports Centre. Please make sure to indicate why you want access to the south entrance connecting door.

Subscriptions

  • Which subscription(s) do I need to make use of sports- and cultural facilities on campus?

We have two basic subscriptions: the UnionCard and the CampusCard.

The UnionCard is only available for students. More information about the UnionCard can be found here

The CampusCard is available for employees and external customers. More information about the CampusCard can be found here.

Next to the UnionCard and CampusCard, we also offer additional subscriptions for fitness and grouplessons. More information about these subscriptions can be found here.

  • How do I purchase a subscription?

Subscriptions can be bought via the Sports and Culture Utwente app. This app is available via the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

You can log in to the app with your S-number or M-number. External customers can log in with the e-mail and password which is created at the servicedesk in the Sports Centre.

After you have logged in and bought a subscription via the Sports and Culture Utwente app, you can make reservations for sports- and cultural activities and register for sports- and cultural courses via the app.

  • Are my subscriptions still valid after I graduate?

When you have bought a subscription, it will be valid until the expiration date of that subscription. So in many cases, your subscription is still valid after your graduation.

For example: you have bought your UnionCard 24/25 in September 2024 and you have graduated in December 2024. This means you can still use your UnionCard until the 31st of August 2025.

Courses

  • I do not work at the University of Twente. Can I participate in a sports- or cultural course?

Yes, this is possible. With a valid CampusCard you can participate in our sports- and cultural courses.

Theatre performances

  • When can I order tickets for the new season?

Ticket sales for the new theatre season will start from June.

  • I would like to sit next to my friend. Is this possible if we buy the tickets independently?

Yes, this is possible. Our seats are not numbered, so you can sit where and next to whom you want.

  • I did not buy a ticket online, can I go to the show?

This is unfortunately not possible, the ticket sale is online only! But as long as the stock lasts, you can still order tickets up to one minute before the start.

  • Where can I find my lost tickets?

You can find your lost ticket(s) via 'Oops! I lost my tickets'.

  • I am a wheelchair user. Is it possible for me to visit the theatres?

Our theatres are not yet fully wheelchair-friendly. Please contact us for consultation, so that we can make your theatre visit pleasant.

Led screen

  • How can I place content on the LED screen that is attached to the Vrijhof?

As a student or an association, you can place your content on the LED screen that is attached to the Vrijhof. This can be requested through the Student Union.

Social safety

  • Who can I contact if I feel unsafe/uncomfortable during sports?

When you are in the Sports Centre, there will always be at least one servicedesk employee. Any questions or issues can be addressed to them.

If it occurs that you feel (or have felt) uncomfortable because of inappropriate behaviour from someone else during sports, you can contact a counselling employee of the UT. More information can be found here

Students can find contact details for students counsellors here.
