Being a student can be challenging. You can be faced with uncertainty, worries, struggles or unpleasant interactions. Sharing experiences with someone your age can feel like a safe and comfortable step.
Therefore, we introduce the Confidential Contact Person (CCP) for students. Or to put it simply: we are trained to be peer listeners and will keep everything you share completely confidential. Let’s talk about it!
We are students of the University of Twente from different studies and backgrounds and have different experiences studying at UT or elsewhere. We support you if you are struggling with something, no matter how big or small. We can give you advice, play a supporting role in finding a solution to a problem, or just listen to you vent. Sometimes that can already be enough, but when you are dealing with bigger issues, a CCP may not have the resources to personally help you, but we can refer you to a professional, or help you seek the support you need and deserve.
So choose a peer listener that you feel comfortable with and let’s talk about it. You can contact one of us and we will be there for you. You can send an email, or leave your phone number and we will contact you as soon as possible.
From 1 November 2024 the confidential contact persons also have walk-in consultation hours in the Chameleon Room of the University Library (Vrijhof 275a). You are welcome to stop by; no appointment is needed. We are here for you if there is anything that you would like to discuss in private.
Every Tuesday 16:00 to 17:00
Every Thursday 13:00 to 14:00
Then the confidential advisor for students is your contact if you have (had) to deal with unacceptable behaviour. Or you may have witnessed such a situation.
The Confidential Contact Person (CCP) for students is an initiative of the department Student Guidance & Well-being (SGW) and the Student Union of UT.
atmosphere as comfortable as I can.
I am a sociable, chatty person who enjoys catching up with friends over a pot of tea. I love reading and nature; classic literature next to a secluded river is my kind of paradise. I am a lover of animals: dogs especially. I have a border collie back home named Levi. I do miss him every day, but he (aside from my family) is always bringing me back home when I can.
I am a lover of sports training Jiu-Jitsu as a member of V.A.S Arashi. I also train at Tim’s Kickbocksen in Hengelo. Running is also another constant in my life. I just love to move!
I am open-minded and know the importance of speaking my mind. I also hold integrity and honesty in very high regard. I do not have a particular conversational style as I understand that everyone is different. I will go at your pace. If you need me, please ask. I am only one message away. We can meet up and chat, go on a walk or grab a cup of tea (yes I do really like tea) any time you need.
I love going to concerts and listening to music—mainly indie, pop, and indie rock—and I also have a big passion for fashion and colourful clothing. During conversations, my focus is always on making you feel as comfortable and seen as possible. I’m flexible with where and how long we talk, so just let me know what works best for you!
When I’m not studying, I love writing music and playing musical instruments. I also love exploring nature, which keeps me grounded and reminds me of home. I’m a big fan of photography, and I’m always looking for that perfect shot, especially when traveling to new places. On quieter days, I enjoy reading a good novel, cooking traditional Kenyan dishes, or catching up on the latest tech trends.
If you’re navigating your journey abroad or just want to chat about life’s challenges and victories, I’m here and always open to connecting.
In my free time, I like playing the piano, going out for runs with my housemates, working on creative projects, and enjoying all kinds of games. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and learning from each other. I’m here to listen, whether you’d like to chat about something lighthearted or talk about something more personal. Let’s meet up in whatever way works best for you—over coffee, a walk, or anywhere on campus.
