Introduction
This information is meant for students who currently follow a bachelor’s programme (different from Electrical Engineering) at the University of Twente and would like to continue with the Electrical Engineering master’s programme after their graduation.
In order to be able to successfully follow the Electrical Engineering master’s programme you should have prior knowledge about a number of topics that will be elaborated further during the programme. The exact requirements depend somewhat on the specialization you choose.
Below we give a checklist of topics that you should have covered, including a course in which the topic is addressed (or a list of subtopics). Using the course description that you can find in the course catalogue, you can check if you have enough prior knowledge about the topic.
How to obtain the right prior knowledge
There are several opportunities during and after your bachelor’s programme to follow courses, such that you will have the right prior knowledge to start your Electrical Engineering master’s programme:
- making the right choices from elective bachelor’s courses
- choosing suitable courses during your minor programme (possibly at another university).
- following a premaster’s programme after your bachelor’s graduation
Procedure for the admission
Please, submit a proposal, in which you indicate the specialization you want to choose and which courses you would like to follow, to the programme coordinator: S. Zhang. Students Advanced Technology should submit the AT agreement form. If an agreement is obtained, you will be admitted immediately after your bachelor’s graduation, if you have taken your courses according to the agreement.
General prior knowledge requirements for all the specialisations
The following prior knowledge requirements are for all students who want to enter the Electrical Engineering master's programme with any specialisatio:
Electromagnetic Fields
An introductory course like 191403070 Electromagnetics
Mathematics and Systems
Courses as described in the table below.
201500291 Calculus A |
201500293 Calculus B |
201500292 Linear Algebra |
201400221 Probability Theory and Statistics |
191231490 Linear Systems |
Specific requirements for the specialisations
The mentioned courses are examples of coures that contain the necessary content. Your courses may satisfy the requirements if they contain the same content.
