Tools to support the implementation of CBL in higher engineering education Discover innovative solutions for the best CBL experience

We are happy that the presenters of the Poster Award on the First National CBL Conference (June 15-23) are joining us to elaborate on their CBL Tool.  A digital tool for facilitating the transition towards CBL in existing higher education courses. The colleagues from UT have developed a free online tool, which aims to guide teachers through the process of implementing CBL principles into their existing courses. The tool combines Van den Akker’s (2003) curricular design dimensions (e.g. learning rational, assessment) with literature that describes key principles of CBL and maturity levels (mild, moderate, intense). It allows to identify the current CBL status of a course as well as opportunities to increase this CBL level.

The second presentation is from TU/e where another tool to support the implementation of CBL was developed. UNION is a tangible tool to engage teachers, teaching assistants and students in jointly reflecting on and developing CBL practices. Users appreciate UNION as a platform for connecting and jointly exploring CBL experiences, linking these to theory (e.g. on alignment), and co-constructing new ideas on CBL. This tool was presented at a workshop during the first National CBL conference.

This session is a free webinar organised by 4TU-CEE. You can sign-up via the attached link.
