Assignment in Canvas

Assignment

Assignments can be handed in through Canvas. Feedback on assignments can be given with the help of Speedgrader. Plagiarism detection can be applied to the documents that students submit to Canvas. For basic instruction how to use this, see the documents ‘Digital Assignment’, ‘Easy marking and grading with Speedgrader’ and 'Using Simcheck plagiarism in Canvas assignments' on the UT Canvas Instructor help page.

If you want to use an assignment as an alternative for a regular written exam, the following settings are relevant:

Do you want to hide grades for students until you have finished grading all students?
By default, assignment scores will be visible for students as soon as they are entered in the gradebook/Speedgrader. If you want to hide the assignment scores for students, you have to set the grade posting policy to 'Manually', and post the grades yourself at the moment you want the grades to be visible for students.

Note that students with the 'TA role' or 'TA no grading role' have access to Canvas Quizzes and Assignments that you have created.
