What does the 2023-2024 programme planning look like?

On this page you can find the planning for the upcoming run of ICCS, taking place between November 2023 and February 2024. Please note: times, where indicated, are noted in the Amsterdam timezone (GMT+1). Mandatory sessions and deadlines are indicated in bold. For the expert meetings, a selection of lectures/discussion sessions is provided from which students may select one (or more) to attend.

Prior to start (application deadline 6th of November)

Apply to the ICCS micro-module at the ECIU.

Week 1 (20 Nov)

Deadline (end of week): handing in your individual Development Acceleration Journal (DAJ) with personal intercultural improvement goals for the micro-module.

Group formation: getting to know your coaching team with icebreakers.

Group formation: getting to know your project team with icebreakers.

Introduction session to the micro-module.

(Optional) question and answer hour for practical questions.

WEEK 2 (27 NOV)



Expert meeting 1 - Fundamentals and project management.

WEEK 3 (04 Dec)

Coaching session 1 - Evaluating the first DAJ & personal learning goals.

Determining the project topic (Challenge-Based Learning step 1).

Sharing notes from expert meeting 1 within the project group.

WEEK 4 (11 Dec)

Deadline: Mini reflection 1 + update DAJ.


Expert meeting 2 - Examples of researching and utilising culture and Citizen Science from research/practice.

WEEK 5 (18 dec)

Coaching session 2 - Discussion on DAJ & personal learning goals.

Formulating essential questions (Challenge-Based Learning step 2).

Sharing notes from expert meeting 2 within the project group.

WEEK 6-7 (25 dec - 07 jan)

Christmas and New Year's break

WEEK 8 (08 jan)

Deadline: Mini reflection 2 + update DAJ.

Formulating the actionable challenge (Challenge-Based Learning step 3).

Expert meeting 3 - Inspiration and deepening.

WEEK 9 (15 jan)

Coaching session 3 - Discussing group dynamics
