PrIME researchers presented their work at the Eighth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE) in Milan. Together with our colleagues from Rijkswaterstaat, Province Noord-Holland, and TU Delft we provided a mini-symposium on the complexity of socio-technical transitions in infrastructure life-cycle management. Among other things, we discussed what does it mean when bridges reaches their end-of-life, the possibilities for determining the functional end-of-life of bridges, and the ways of dealing with uncertainties in analysing the environmental impact of pavement strategies.
