Identifying Rule-Based Criteria for Assessing the Potential Technical End-Of-Life of Steel Bridges at a Portfolio Level

Researcher: Anguiano Ventura

Project Duration: April 2024 – December 2024

Project Partner: TNO

Research Objective:

The proposed research aims to identify and develop rule-based criteria that leads to the technical end-of-life (TEOL) of bridges to aid the decision-making of RWS to develop effective maintenance (replacement and renovation) programs within their own portfolio of assets. Based on this statement, the following objectives can be established:

Objective 1: Identify and create rule-based criteria that provide insights into the TEOL conditions for bridges at a portfolio level.

Objective 2:  Establishing threshold values for each selected criterion that contributes to the TEOL of a bridge for future inspection report inquiries.
