On February 2, 2024, the Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) programme at the University of Twente celebrated an important achievement: the graduation of its 1000th Master's student. Since the start of de Master program in 2004, it has consistently contributed to the development of talented industrial engineering designers, and this milestone underscores the success and growth of the programme.
The lucky recipient of this special honour is Julia Cyrkel. She started as a Bachelor student in the IDE programme and continued her Master with IDE. Julia successfully completed her Master’s cum laude. She did her thesis under the guidance of Professor Eric Lutters at People Creating Value in Enschede, where she worked on the design of a coffee machine doing research about 'Extended Reality for User Validation in Product Development’.
Wim de Boer, programme director of IDE, stated: “We are very proud that we have reached this milestone. The work of Julia is not only an achievement for her personally but also for the entire IDE community."
