The Executive Board of the University of Twente has appointed Mert Alberts as interim portfolio holder of operations at the EEMCS faculty. This position becomes vacant with the upcoming departure of Stephan Maathuis.
Mert Alberts starts in this role on 1 May next, and will combine it with his current position as director of the LISA service department. For three days a week, Mert will be available to the faculty until a new portfolio holder is in place. Recruitment for this has already started.
Mert Alberts on his temporary new role: “I am very much looking forward to starting work at the faculty of EEMCS. Apart from the fact that it is a great challenge at a wonderful faculty, it gives a unique opportunity to watch and work in the day-to-day running of a faculty. This is also very useful and insightful for my role as service department director. I realise it will be a busy period. But I am confident that together we will get the work done, knowing that there is also a willingness within the MT of LISA to sometimes go the extra mile when necessary.”
