The mathematics education reading group has been active since 2019.
We meet once a month to discuss publications in the field of maths education research, typically articles from journals.
In the last year these readings have covered:
- students’ understandings of multivariate integrals and Riemann sums,
- proof assistants,
- proof comprehension,
- Abstract algebra concept tests, and so forth.
The people in the reading group are mostly from AM, but there are also two colleagues from ELAN (the teacher training institute), and past members include educational consultants and colleagues from other technical programmes.
There are no obligations to joining other than having good intentions to do the readings, sometimes even succeeding in doing so, and being brave enough to come along and join the discussion even if you have not done the reading.
If you are interested in joining, please contact Tracy Craig and she will add you to the Teams environment.
