Process mining and artificial intelligence are increasingly coming together in the study of business processes. Machine learning techniques play an important role in process mining, for example, in prediction, anomaly detection and decision support.
However, many of these techniques rely on assumptions that do not fit well with process data. Nonparametric distributions, temporal dependencies and concurrency often characterise this data.
In this session, we will look at how data encoding and an understanding of process structures can help to address this issue. We will also discuss practical approaches for applying machine learning in process mining in a reliable and accurate way.
Interactive Brainstorm Session
We’ll also open the floor for participants to:
- Share challenges from their own domains
- Discuss practical applications for AI/ML in process mining
- Reflect on the broader impact of trustworthy process intelligence
