Hermen was born in Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk, the Netherlands in 1986. He received his M.Sc. degree from the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands in 2010 at the Computer Architecture for Embedded Systems group, where he currently also is a Ph.D. candidate. His research interests include efficient distributed embedded systems.
